The PT note for CPT 97110 – Therapeutic Exercises has been updated by expanding the options available under Treatment Area, allowing providers to more accurately document therapeutic exercises performed on different areas of the body.
With this update:
- All previously available Treatment Area options remain available.
- New options have been added to document treatment involving the lower extremities: Low Back, Hip, Thigh, Knee, Lower Leg, Ankle, and Foot.
- The Other option remains available for documenting any treatment area not included among the predefined options.
- Providers can select one or multiple treatment areas, depending on the exercises performed during the session.
This enhancement provides more complete, specific, and accurate documentation of therapeutic exercises performed in PT, particularly when treatment involves the lower extremities.
