NPI validation has been improved in both the Worker Dashboard and Identifiers section, making NPI lookups easier and preventing errors related to the entered format.
With this update:
- When looking up an NPI, the system validates that it contains 10 digits and no letters.
- If the entered NPI does not meet these requirements, an informative message explains the correct format instead of returning an error.
- The system now accepts numbers entered or pasted with spaces, hyphens, periods, or parentheses, making it easier to use NPIs copied from different sources.
- These formatting characters are automatically handled so the NPI can be searched without requiring users to manually reformat it.
This improvement makes NPI lookup clearer, more flexible, and easier to use, reducing formatting errors and simplifying data entry.
