The new Bank Accounts section expands the integration between bank accounts and Accounting, allowing users to review financial information, manage bank transactions, and record them directly as income, expenses, or payroll.
Bank Account Information
- Connected accounts are displayed with their balances and can be filtered by type using Types, separating deposit, credit, and investment accounts.
- Each account displays information provided by the bank, including the financial institution, account type, account number, account holder, available balance, and current balance. Credit cards also display the credit limit.
Deposit and Credit Accounts: Transactions
- Deposit and credit accounts include a Transactions section with filters for Categories, Types, and date range.
- Each bank transaction displays information such as the merchant, transaction type, category, associated information, and amount.
- Bank transactions can be recorded directly in Accounting using Register income, Register expense, or Register payroll. The corresponding form opens with the transaction’s amount and date already populated, keeping the accounting record linked to the bank transaction.
- Depending on whether the bank transaction represents money coming in or going out, the corresponding income or expense registration options are provided.
- Void for financial records allows a transaction to be excluded from financial records and included again later when needed.
Working with Multiple Transactions
- Multiple bank transactions can now be managed at once. Each row includes a selection checkbox, and the checkbox in the header allows all available transactions on the page to be selected.
- Only transactions that can be acted upon can be selected, such as those that are already settled and have not yet been recorded in Accounting.
- When multiple transactions are selected, Actions displays the available actions for that selection along with the corresponding number of transactions.
- Register expenses or Register incomes, and Register incomes and expenses when the selection includes both types, allow all selected transactions to be recorded at once without opening each form individually.
- Void for financial records excludes all selected transactions from financial records, while Use for financial records includes them again.
- If the selection combines voided and in-use transactions, the corresponding action remains disabled and displays Not available with voided and in-use transactions at once. In this case, they must be selected separately.
Deposit and Credit Accounts: Monthly Summary
- The new Monthly Summary displays Money in and Money out for each month on deposit and credit accounts.
Investment Accounts: Performance
- Investment accounts include Best Performance, highlighting the best-performing holdings with their name, symbol, current value, and gain.
Connection Actions
- Connection management is centralized under Actions, where accounts can be connected or recovered using Connect account, disconnected using Unplug, and Mapping of transaction categories can be accessed to match bank categories with those used in Accounting.
This integration provides a more connected way to work with banking and accounting information, simplifying balance and transaction review, accounting registration of bank transactions, and bulk management of multiple transactions from the new Dashboard.
