In Amexzone Health, you can deactivate a diagnosis by setting a Stop Date, allowing you to maintain an accurate clinical history without deleting previously recorded diagnoses from the patient's medical record.
To deactivate a diagnosis, follow these steps:
- Access the patient's medical record.
- From the left-side menu, select Diagnoses.
- Locate the diagnosis you want to deactivate.
Click the Edit icon (pencil) located to the right of the diagnosis.
In the Edit Diagnosis window, locate the Stop Date field.
- Select the date when the diagnosis should no longer be active.
- Click Edit to save the changes.
Once the Stop Date is recorded, the diagnosis will remain in the patient's medical history but will be considered inactive starting from the specified date.
Important Considerations:
- Patient's main diagnoses / All the patient's active diagnoses: If the Appointment Type is configured to automatically display the patient's main diagnoses or all active diagnoses, any diagnosis with a Stop Date that has already passed will no longer appear in the clinical documentation.
Only the diagnoses associated with the encounter: If the Appointment Type is configured to allow diagnoses to be selected directly within the encounter, inactive diagnoses will no longer be available for selection.
Note: Deactivating a diagnosis does not delete it from the patient's medical record, ensuring that the patient's clinical history is preserved.
